Sept. 23, 2009... Bucks?

September 23rd, onset of Bowseason

By the look of it a forum update is just a tad overdue!  I've inventoried quite a few deer and turkeys over the last few months.  We've had a wet spring and summer which no doubt hampered deer movement, but the last few clear weeks and cool nights have changed that!  Looks like some respectable bucks made the winter and are currently... out there somewhere.  By now most of the velvet is off and buck bachelor groups are beginnin' to break up a little.  I've got a long-awaited week of October treestand time comin' to me that'll be complimented by a good stock of doe pee and scent drippers.  Does it get any better than that?  Some pics that have been fuelin' the fire are below:

Ok, I'll confess that there are bigger bucks out there that I MIGHT be aware of.  And because it's a small world I might post some of those pics AFTER my time in the woods.  :)  I posted the turkey picture because I just can't get over how well their colors blend with the autumn woods (there's another turkey under the time/date stamp too).  Would love to catch up with a juicy turkey of the bearded variety at some point - they're out there.

For those that are food plot and whitetail garden lovers, I've got some seed left from this season that'll be good for next spring.  Give me a call throughout the fall or winter if you're needy for specific seed types.  Keep sendin' emails and keep your plots fluffy and sweet.  Good luck to all of you with your autumn expeditions, be safe and shoot straight!
